The Performing Arts Department’s curriculum is based on the philosophy that music and drama are central parts of the total education program. The purpose of the performing arts program is to provide an experience through which students can enrich their lives by: developing aesthetically, intellectually and emotionally through music and drama; extending and transmitting our cultural heritage and that of other cultures through music and drama; creating and performing music and drama; understanding the relationship between Performing Arts and the environment; and developing an awareness of the vocational and avocational opportunities available through Performing Arts.

Supporting our Drama department is the Argyle Drama Association (ADA), a dynamic organization of parents of Argyle drama students. They foster student success by supporting the Drama Department through fundraising, helping with the yearly plays, etc. To find out what is happening in the drama department. Please visit our ADA section.

Supporting our Music department is the Argyle Music Association (AMA); a dynamic organization of parents of Argyle music students. They foster student success by supporting the Music Department, raising funds for student bursaries and scholarships and by helping students with their music trips. Many parents become involved by helping at concerts and the fabulous Cabaret event. Please visit the AMA page to access information on what is happening in the Music Department

The Visual Arts program provides opportunities for students to learn about art in order to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enrich their lives. Art courses are designed to accommodate a range of interests, to develop expertise and to encourage creativity in all students. While new activities, experiences, and ideas for artistic expression will occur at each level, many projects will involve the practice and refinement of skills and knowledge gained previously. The demands and standards placed on students in demonstrating a creative approach and in developing technical skill increases with each grade level.
